At Cornell:
McDonough was one of Cornell's most consistent jumpers and always performed best when it counted most. At the Heptagonal Championships he scored in all 7 that he competed in. McDonough was team captain in 2005-06 and proved to be an excellent leader for the team. During McDonough's career, Cornell won 7 out of 8 possible Heptagonal Championships.
